Dog Training days

The last Saturday of the month I get together with Penny and we run a dog training day at Suckley Village Hall. Penny has had 25 years’ experience training Guide Dogs for the blind. With our combined knowledge we run a varied day.

The day is structured as follows:

09:30 - Coffee and introductions, followed by lead control and then a pack walk where I talk through the body language of all the dogs. Good manners inside and out!

11:00 -  Coffee and then Penny demonstrates how to mentally tire your dog out if you haven’t got time to walk them.

12:30 - Lunch is then served, during lunch we have discussions about poisons to dogs in the house and garden, Dog law and some useful training techniques.

After lunch we will help you with any problems you have with your dogs. We only have a maximum of 6 dogs for the day so we have enough time to spend with individual problems you might have. To end the day we have another pack with our dogs included and we can demonstrate how the pack changes adding different social positions, this will become clearer during the day.

3.30pm - The Training day finishes and everybody including dogs go home tired!

We can run more courses if the interest is there.

Penny & Lou’s next training day is March 28th - We try to make it a fun day!!

Saturday 11th April 2015 - 2:00pm - West Malvern Village Hall

In the afternoon of the 11th April I shall be doing a talk about understanding your dog’s body language through the social position of the wolf - come along, it’s fascinating!
